Motivating Yourself Is Not Easy, But It’s Possible

Motivation never comes when you need it. From simple tasks like walking your dog to working on complex projects and deadlines, it can be difficult finding the inspiration you need to get things done.

Most people believe that motivation comes easy. However, sometimes it can be difficult to focus on the simplest tasks. Sometimes you don’t feel like waking up and going to work. Sometimes you don’t want to deal with a mountain of work.

When you can’t find your focus, that’s when you feel stuck.

Whether it’s something as simple as making a plan with a friend or creating a to-do list and actually following through, sometimes we just need a push to get us to pull through.

However, finding motivation doesn’t have to be that difficult. With a few simple steps, it’s possible to find your drive.

Practice Positivity

As cliché as it sounds, practicing positivity can help you get into a routine. When you’re in a good mood and feeling confident, you’ll be able to achieve a lot more.

It goes without saying that a positive mind is able to focus because it’s stress-free. When you’re stressed, you tend to panic. Panicking only leads to anxiety; that’s the last thing you want to deal with.

Reward Yourself

One of the best ways to motivate yourself is through personal rewards. Set a goal and select a reward for when it’s completed. For example: let’s say you have a sales target of 200 per month.

For every 50 sales you make, reward yourself with something like chocolates, a spa treatment or even a weekend trip with friends.

Encourage Peer Pressure in Your Life

This may sound odd, but sometimes peer pressure can be a good thing!

Ask your colleagues to start a friendly competition. If you have a target to meet, you may be motivated to push past your limits to achieve it.

When you’re competing against someone, you’re more pumped and willing to go that extra mile. To make it more interesting, set a reward and a penalty. The loser gives everyone on the team a treat, and the winner gets a prize.
